Ekko Jute bags branded with your logo/s and details are not just a one-time-use bag; they will be used over and over again giving increased positive market exposure at minimal cost to your business.

Many eco bags are made from non-biodegradable, synthetic materials. Ekko prides itself on offering bags made from biodegradable, natural plants fibres, such as jute and cotton, or recycled materials.

Jute is produced in third-world countries, such as India and Bangladesh, and helps to support communities in those countries. While the jute is growing it removes carbon dioxide from our atmosphere and produces oxygen, helping our world and environment in more ways than one!

Jute is one of the lowest-costing natural fibres and is second only to cotton in the volumes produced and the variety of uses it is put to.

JUTE

• Jute bags are extremely durable – one jute bag will last longer than many thousands of plastic bags.

• Jute is environmentally friendly and sustainably produced.

• Jute fabric has a beautiful, natural texture and aroma.

• Jute has exceptional insulation properties, low thermal conductivity, and antistatic characteristics.

• Jute is a low-cost natural fibre.

• Jute is a versatile material with many applications and uses.

COTTON

  • Cotton bags are convenient and easy-to-carry. They take up minimal space and maybe folded up for easy storage.
  • Cotton bags are durable and are not prone to ripping like plastic/paper bags – you may carry heavy loads for long periods of time without having to worry about “double-bagging” and the handle will not stretch with the weight inside of it!
  • Cotton bags are re-useable and easy to maintain – simply throw them in the washing machine.
  • It will take around one to five months for a cotton tote bag to decompose in a damp, bright, and warm environment.
  • Cotton is hypo-allergenic.

JUCO

  • JuCo = Jute + cotton and comprises 75% jute and 25% cotton.
  • Juco leaves a low water and carbon footprint.
  • Fine, detailed prints show up better on Juco due to the dense fabric composition.
  • The woven combination of jute and cotton provides a luxurious look and feel.
  • The merging of these two natural products makes the Juco bags very durable and strong.

LININGS

To retain shape and increase lifespan, our bags may be supplied with any one of the following additional applications:

Stiffening: The material is stiffened with vegetable starch to help it retain its shape and last longer. This method does not impact the biodegradability of the bag.

LDPE: Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is a semi-rigid and translucent polymer that is applied as a lining to help bags retain shape, last longer and provide a small element of water resistance. This is a plastic product and is not biodegradable. Any LDPE lining should be detached and removed from the bag in order for the natural bag fibre to biodegrade.

PP: Polypropylene is a thicker, stronger, but cheaper lining material with a higher melting point, making it more resistant to heat. PP is a bit more heat–resistant with a higher melting point and a bit more toughness.
